Squares! I was trying to figure out a fun way to introduce squares and spotted the oh-so-wonderful Post-it! Who doesn't love a good stack of brightly colored Post-its!? I have a rather large surplus of this sticky wonders from when I taught Kindergarten so I grabbed several, ran them through my little laminator and got to planning.
We started off with a good game of hide and go seek, with squares being the objects to be found. Some of them were hidden pretty sneaky (aka the pink square on the pink stroller) and other were easy to find. Little Miss enjoyed this so much that we played several rounds.
Little Miss colored her own quilt squares.
Glued them on her "quilt".
During that time, Baby Sis woke up and joined in on the square fun.
Here's the finished product!
And again, tracing the shape. (I'm saving all of the "work sheets" for her own portfolio at the end of the year and/or a shape book.)
